Sora no Hikari -- Light of the Sky (Naruto RP)
Joining: Anybody, but keep in mind this is during the 2.5 year gap. ( Sorry Naruto D: )
Setting: Training grounds in Konoha, just close enough to the Academy for Hanabi to notice, but far enough from the Hyuuga territory for her father to not be able to see with his "all-mighty" Byakugan.
Details: Hanabi and whoever happens to be training/sees her looking at the training area. Just after Academy hours. During the Shippuden gap -- probably around one to two years since Naruto left.
Possible Rating: PG-13, most likely.
The Academy had let the students out early today. This left Hanabi with minutes to spare before she was expected back at the Hyuuga House. Normally, she might have headed straight home, as there was hardly anything to do otherwise. Her father would have her spar with him until Neji came back from his mission. Then he'd arrange an elder Hyuuga to train with her while he insisted upon special training for her genius cousin, Hinata making them tea, as always.
However, before this basic routine could begin, Hanabi happened to walk by the training grounds and spotted someone in it. He or she (she could not tell from this distance, and didn't bother to activate Byakugan) seemed vaguely familiar, but she couldn't remember where. Either way, she became amused at their training and decided they wouldn't mind if she spied on them for a while. For the entertainment value.
She took off into a nearby tree, landing as quietly as she possibly could with her current skill level. Her raven locks slipped from behind her ears and in front of her face, to which she drew them back like a curtain. Her pearly-lavender eyes watched as the person continued with their session, apparently oblivious to their audience.
Useless. That's what she was. Utterly, completely useless.
That's the way Yamanaka Ino was feeling lately. Even with what medical training she was undertaking with Tsunade-sama and that blasted Forehead-girl, nothing seemed enough. She was a slow learner when it came to all that healing junk, and with all the special lessons Sakura got with the Godaime, the pink-haired kunoichi's taijutsu and ninjutsu were becoming top class.
Where did that leave the flower arranging mind-grabber? Nowhere in particular, it seemed. She had the basics of medical ninjutsu, nothing more. She was not much of a fighter either. And unless you counted her Shinranshin no Jutsu, her only other notable attack was too slow and too specific to be really useful in battle.
As another kunai sunk into the training post, the blonde became acutely aware of someone invading her space. She was a Chuunin now and not the same pushover she had once been. It took her only a few seconds to figure out where the person was hiding and toss a kunai closely enough to them to frighten the daylights out of them.
"I know you're there," Ino shouted. "Show yourself!"
Hanabi's eyes slightly widened at the swiftness of the attack, but she didn't let that become apparent. She'd been found out, though, so she had to show herself.
Kicking off on her heels, she landed in as graceful a manner as she could muster, given the height of the branch and her small form. Her hair nearly caught in her mouth, and her pack made an almost shuffling noise as the contents were slightly re-positioned. She stared at the kunoichi with blank eyes, but did not refrain from a greeting.
"My name is Hyuuga Hanabi," she said, though she assumed the girl didn't need to be informed of her family name. She paused, but couldn't quite grasp the name of the person in front of her. She was even beginning to doubt if she had really seen her before...
Either way, she remained silent, waiting for the other girl to speak her name.
Ino looked over the short, pupil-less girl with intrigue. She knew instinctively that she was a member of the Hyuuga clan simply from looks, but Ino was at a loss as to her first name. Determined not to lose face in front of someone who probably wasn't even out of the academy she relaxed herself.
"You're from the Hyuuga clan," Ino said. "I get this odd feeling I've seen you before...have I?"
Ino continued to reflexively hold a kunai in her right hand. She'd dealt so little with the Hyuuga that she didn't know much about them outside of what she'd seen Neji do and say during the exams all those years back.
Ino gulped. She really hoped this one wasn't as nasty and easily provoked as Neji had been.
Hanabi couldn't recall if the other girl had seen her before or not, but she was pretty sure that she had seen her somewhere...
Ah, that's right. She'd been the blonde who had shouted unthinkingly at that boy who was up against one of the Sand nin during one of the Chuunin Exam matches.
Her name was still a blur...if she had even known it in the first place, that is. Hanabi viewed her with a slightly raised brow, then replied:
"I don't recall any blonde's name, except for Uzumaki and Hokage-sama." She didn't care to put an honorific as an attachment to Naruto's name - that'd be implying that she had a certain viewpoint towards him, or a sense of respect. To extent she had, but that didn't need to be shown... Shifting her bag, she gave the kunoichi a stare through nearly half-way lidded eyes. "And your name is...?"
How long before the blonde would actually answer her question? It was proper respect, anyway, to greet a stranger with one's name without having to be asked for it.
This was beginning to show signs of being a rather large waste of her time...
Ino scoffed at the most recent antics of the girl who had been spying on HER. What gave this little brat the right to speak to the great Yamanaka Ino like that?
Oh wait, that's right. Ino's mind seemed to spark for a moment. This was Hyuga Hanabi, Hinata's little sister. Figures...all those Hyuga were alike save for Hinata. Black sheep or what?
Either way, this girl seemed a lot more reserved than she had expected, and Ino was just fine with that. She found the girl asking for a name, which she gladly supplied.
"My name's Yamanaka Ino," she said with a great big smirk, striking one her showy poses meant to accentuate her assets. "Beautiful, stunning...the graceful flower of the InoShi...."
She got the feeling from the other girl's empty stare that she didn't really seem to care much.
Some women could be real bitches, couldn't they?
